GETTING CLOSE

Things are really coming together nicely.  The best part of all of this is the documentary.  Jon Medel has done such a wonderful job working with us that words will never repay what he deserves.  It is going to come out better than expected.

This week, the Precidio, The La Jolla Village News, The La Jolla Light, City Beat and the Examiner all interviewed me for the show and Blanchet Designs.  I am hoping that it will all come together in the end and everyone will enjoy the show.  I am excited about how this will all turn out.  I have attached the copy of the article to enjoy. 

I am closing my eyes and taking a leap of faith it will all turn out ok!!!!!!!!!!

COUNTDOWN

Things are just moving along so fast now.  We have finished everything with regards to the show in terms of set-up and design.  Everyone is in place for a nice evening.  So excited about the food, wine tasting and of course the documentary.

We are now going to change the show as we will not have the charities speak but air footage of Keely's interview with the charities and the former foster youth.  It is great stuff and very informative.  Keely just has my interview left and we will have enough footage for an hour long film.   Can you believe that?

Tickets are starting to sell which is making me very happy.  In San Diego, people usually wait until the last minute to buy tickets but our PR is working.  We will have full page articles in the Precidio, The Beach and Bay and La Jolla Light on May 1st.

The hard work that I have put into this is finally paying off.  Oh and did I mention, the clothing is to die for.  I am so please with how they are all turning out.  It is very interesting to think about all that has taken place in a year.  Stay Tuned!!!!!

ENTERING THE FINAL MONTH

This Saturday is the second fitting for our clothing and final fitting for the documentary. After this I get behind the camera to start directing all the interviews with our moderator for the evening, Keeley. We will be interviewing the Chef, Voices for Children, Just In Time and Janaki and I will be sitting down for a discussion of the process towards the end. I can't wait to see how this turns out.

All of the press is in full gear.  I am working on the magazines and television now.  Learning more tools as I go along on the process.  It is very detailed but I am loving the challenge.

Beginning of Hope

Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Soledad Club in Pacific Beach is the date for the Beginning of Hope fashion show.  Stacey Blanchet of Blanchet Designs www.blanchetdesigns.com, Jennifer Lynn of Linden of Los Angeles http://www.lindenca.com/, Camille Wood of Dazzlme by Camille http://www.dazzlme.com/, and Artemisa Knudtson of Artemisa’s Creations www.artemisascreations.com will present a tour de force in fashion to benefit foster youth. FIRST FITTING FOR BLANCHET DESIGNS FASHION SHOW

We had our first fitting today with models, Lynn Payette, Nikki, Jordon, Karina.  We are now working on Micheale, Sandy, Carla, Lidiad.  Stay tuned.  Filming went well.

THE SHOW CONTINUES FULL STEAM AHEAD

Friday night was crazy. We finished our time lines for the clothing, everyone met eachother, we designed the jewelry with Art for the clothing pieces, and set up the idea for the documentary. Oh and did I mention we now officially found the location for the fashion show as we didn't like all the restrictions from the Balboa Park Club. We are having it at the Soledad Club in Pacific Beach with a view to die for. We also designed the show with fellow designer Diana Drake. This is going to get mad in the coming months.

FRIDAY NIGHT AT COSTA BRAVA

Friday night whole team is coming together to eat and film the documentary. We will be talking about the set up the show, clothing construction, jewelry for outfits and the other two designers that are in the show. We are meeting at my favorite place in PB Costa Brava. Can't wait -- Just love that place.

SHOPPING TRIP TO LA

Very very successful trip to LA.  We took Leah from the Make a Wish Foundation with us to pick out the material for he dress.  She is having a crushed black velvet dress with decal skulls on it. She is going to look great.  We starting shooting the documentary and of course Jon was so good that we forgot most of the day he was even there.  Wondering how the video will look with us being us.  Jeff Seltzer as came with us to shoot the entire day of photos.  I guess he and Jon were in the background somewhere.  It was an interesting and exhausting experience but we did it.  Still more shopping to do and hiring of two more seamstress for our team.

The fashion show is coming together.  Date - May 18, 2011 at the Balboa Park Club Grand Ballroom.  Lots to do now that the venue and contacts have been signed.  The real work is about to start.  Keep you posted as things happen.

THE COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN

Feb 5th the team and I are heading to LA to start our shopping for the upcoming show on May 12, 2011.  We will start filming the documentary on Saturday and a photographer will be following us to start the journey of our progress. I am also granting the wish of a 9 year old girl from the Make A Wish foundation with her own designer dress.  There have been 3 Golden Tickets sold at $2,000.  I hope this is a great journey for everyone involved.  Keep you posted!!!!!

FIRST CUSTOM DESIGN OF BLANCHET DESIGNS!!!!!!!!

Parminder Randhawa is wearing the first custom design of Blanchet Designs.  She was involved in the entire process at her request.  She wanted to know how the process was done so we took her shopping, let her pick out her own fabric and trim.  Seamstress Janaki Ravinautala worked with Parminder on several fittings to get it exactly the way she wanted it.  Way to go Parminder!!!!

THE RIDE HAS BEGUN

Picked up all my sketches today and loaded them onto the website.  They turned out so great and I am so excited.  Meeting with my event coordinator next Monday to look at venues and start planning the event.  Two designers (1 from LA and 1 from San Diego) who each have a different look have asked to be a part of the show.  My goal is to plan an event so amazing that people beg for one next year.  Financially, I want to raise at least $25,000 for charity.  We shall see.

Life is getting crazy

There is so much going on I can't keep it straight.  I am now being ask to come to Los Angeles and meet with several companies about being in their shows and also several presidents of magazines in Los Angeles want to feature me in their editions.  I now have seven meeting schedule next week and the possibility of 5 shows in the next three months before my big show.  Trying to keep it all straight in my head while planning my show.

Picking up the finished designs and they should be up on my site by the weekend.  I am so excited as I will have 19 pieces in my collections.

Stay Tuned!  The rollercoaster has begun.  I am so going to love this ride.

Golden Ticket

Blanchet Designs will be offering six golden tickets to follow me through the whole process from start to finish.  I have run ads in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Orange County and San Diego.  There have been seven people that are interested and I will start talking with them this week. 

We will give full access to every part of the process so anyone who is involved in this will know what it takes to be a fashion designer, plan a show and handle the business side of things.  Hang on, off we go!!!!!
