THE COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN

Feb 5th the team and I are heading to LA to start our shopping for the upcoming show on May 12, 2011.  We will start filming the documentary on Saturday and a photographer will be following us to start the journey of our progress. I am also granting the wish of a 9 year old girl from the Make A Wish foundation with her own designer dress.  There have been 3 Golden Tickets sold at $2,000.  I hope this is a great journey for everyone involved.  Keep you posted!!!!!

FIRST CUSTOM DESIGN OF BLANCHET DESIGNS!!!!!!!!

Parminder Randhawa is wearing the first custom design of Blanchet Designs.  She was involved in the entire process at her request.  She wanted to know how the process was done so we took her shopping, let her pick out her own fabric and trim.  Seamstress Janaki Ravinautala worked with Parminder on several fittings to get it exactly the way she wanted it.  Way to go Parminder!!!!

THE RIDE HAS BEGUN

Picked up all my sketches today and loaded them onto the website.  They turned out so great and I am so excited.  Meeting with my event coordinator next Monday to look at venues and start planning the event.  Two designers (1 from LA and 1 from San Diego) who each have a different look have asked to be a part of the show.  My goal is to plan an event so amazing that people beg for one next year.  Financially, I want to raise at least $25,000 for charity.  We shall see.

Life is getting crazy

There is so much going on I can't keep it straight.  I am now being ask to come to Los Angeles and meet with several companies about being in their shows and also several presidents of magazines in Los Angeles want to feature me in their editions.  I now have seven meeting schedule next week and the possibility of 5 shows in the next three months before my big show.  Trying to keep it all straight in my head while planning my show.

Picking up the finished designs and they should be up on my site by the weekend.  I am so excited as I will have 19 pieces in my collections.

Stay Tuned!  The rollercoaster has begun.  I am so going to love this ride.

Golden Ticket

Blanchet Designs will be offering six golden tickets to follow me through the whole process from start to finish.  I have run ads in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Orange County and San Diego.  There have been seven people that are interested and I will start talking with them this week. 

We will give full access to every part of the process so anyone who is involved in this will know what it takes to be a fashion designer, plan a show and handle the business side of things.  Hang on, off we go!!!!!
